Hepburn passed away quietly at her home

in Switzerland at the age of 63.

euphemism [ˈju:fəmɪzəm]

die 去世

go to heaven

six feet under

(because when you die they bury you in the ground. And the depth is 6 feet)

He is six feet under.

put it down

put it to sleep

WC, toilet

go to the bathroom

restroom

lavatory

washroom

the little boy's room

the Ladies room

the men's room

unemployed 失业

out of work

between jobs

on the streets

sex 性

the birds and the bees

do one’s taxes

Hanky Panky

the birds and the bees

She's only six, but she already

knows about the birds and the bees.

1. Answer the question the child asking.

The key to answering any question of this sort is to listen carefully and identify exactly what the child is asking.

2. What to expect at this age？

The three-year-old may simply want to know how the baby got out of your stomach, while a six-year-old may be asking how a baby is actually made.

3. How to talk about it？

＊Be calm and relaxed. It's best to be as matter-of-fact as possible when your child asks questions so that she doesn't get the message that talking to you about sex (or any other tricky topic) is embarrassing or taboo.

＊Keep it simple. The best answers are short and uncomplicated.

"How are babies made? Well, it's an amazing thing: A seed from the daddy and an egg from the mommy join together in the mom's tummy. That's where the baby grows — in a special sack there, called the womb."

While you don't want to sound like a doctor, you should use the correct names for body parts.

＊Don't think that you have to answer everything at once. Find a children’s book that describes fetal development in an age-appropriate fashion.

better future
